When James and his wife moved into their 75-year-old home in Hebbville, they knew from the pre-purchase inspection that would have to make some major home energy upgrades. The attic insulation wasn’t up to code, the basement felt damp and cold and the existing heat pump wasn’t rated for cold temperatures.

Through Clean Energy Financing, they upgraded the insulation in the attic, added insulation to the basement and replaced the old heat pump with a new energy efficiency one that’s better suited to South Shore winters. Every floor of the house is now tended to for efficient comfort, and all of the work was completed by one contractor who was on the approved list of CEF.
