On the road with Clean Energy Financing in 2023

What do farmers’ markets, home shows, and Cape Breton Road trips have in common? They were all on our Clean Energy Financing (CEF) event schedule for 2023. With CEF available in 12 municipalities across the province, it’s important for us to reach out and inform homeowners about this opportunity. Let’s take a look at our recent travels and where we plan to set up next.

Kicking off the year with home show season

As winter eases into spring, home show season begins across Nova Scotia. These multi-day events provide homeowners with a great opportunity to prepare for renovations and various energy efficiency upgrades for their homes. For instance, you might meet a contractor specializing in heat pump installations and then stumble upon our booth to learn about financing options available to you. Here’s a list of the shows we attended this year:

  • Pictou County Home Show
  • Yarmouth Spring Living Show
  • South Shore Expo
  • Spring into Summer Digby

Spotting us at your local farmers’ markets

We assure you that our presence at farmers’ markets throughout the province wasn’t solely driven by our desire to stock up on fresh produce and delicious baked goods. These community events are a weekly routine for many people across the province, making them the perfect setting for engaging with homeowners and discussing their home energy needs. In 2023 we visited the following farmers’ markets:

  • Bridgewater Farmers’ Market
  • Chester Farmers’ Market
  • Barrington Farmers’ Market
  • Pugwash Farmers’ Market

Road shows, pop-ups, and climate summits

Sometimes, you have to create your own fun, and that’s precisely what we did in 2023!  During our trip to Cape Breton, we made the most of our time by setting up booths in public libraries in Baddeck and Ingonish, allowing us to reach people in their day-to-day lives and have conversations about their home energy upgrade needs. We did the same in Amherst, and also had a table at Yarmouth’s SWITCH Open Streets event.

Home energy upgrades are just one way you can help mitigate the impacts of climate change. That’s why we attended both the Pictou County Climate Summit and the South Shore Sustainability Expo, where attendees could learn from organizations about their climate concerns.
